Love & Responsibility / Make Lists Not War
  • Self expression framework

Lists are the most powerful tool for expression. If you think about it, everything is a list, a prioritized list. Whether it is your followers, friends, interests, favorite music, movies, books, etc., they are all lists. The lists change over time, of course. Wouldn't it be great if there was a way to express these preferences and relationships in a way that is easy to express, understand and can be universal.

I remember reading TV guide when I was a kid, to see what shows a celebrity liked, what hobbies they had, what were their favorite books, food, etc. It would be wonderful to be able to express my preferences and read about the preferences of people in the family and friends circle and all over the world. This is the goal of this project. Provide a simple way to express your preferences as lists and find other people's preferences. This combined with uuid will allow you to easily find a person on X, LinkedIn, etc and see their preferences. Preferences don't need to limited to content, it can be method of contact, like maybe they want to be contacted by serious contact first, then LinkedIn, then X, etc. Similarly for other preferences like payment methods, etc.

It is like X, Facebook to some extent, but it is just about making lists on your own account and not liking, etc engagement games. Users make their lists and you can then generate reports from all of these lists and filter them by different criteria to see what people in Japan say their favorite book is or what people from France say their favorite food in California is. Or globally what is the most popular song. Over time, we can allow people to time travel and ask questions about what was the most popular song in 2025 in Africa or Brazil in the year 2030. People's preferences change over time, this would be a simple and neat way to capture the changes, so someone can time travel back 10 years and see what they used to be like at that time.
